Nancy L. Slepicka is a highly respected land use and environmental lawyer who counsels clients on the environmental risks and legal strategies of community and commercial development throughout the Maryland counties in the D.C. metropolitan area. During Ms. Slepicka’s thirty-five years of practice, she has represented regional and national builders, developers, financial institutions and property owners before federal, state, and local administrative agencies, boards, and legislative bodies, as well as before state and federal courts. The scope of her representation includes rezonings, special exceptions, subdivision approvals, site plan approvals, federal, environmental agency approvals at the federal, state, and local, historic preservation approvals, and other approvals needed for the successful completion of large residential, commercial, and industrial development projects. Ms. Slepicka has represented numerous national and local builders and developers throughout Charles County. One noted example is the successful completion of numerous land use and environmental approvals for Charles County’s only mixed-use waterfront planned community, The Villages at Swan Point, on behalf of two national companies. As part of her representation in Charles County, Ms. Slepicka frequently represents clients before the Board of County Commissioners for Charles County, the Charles County Planning Commission, and the Charles County Board of Appeals.

 Ms. Slepicka’s environmental practice focuses on approvals for impacts to Maryland’s designated Critical Area, non-tidal and tidal wetlands, endangered species, forests, and historical areas. Ms. Slepicka assists her clients obtain such approvals from the Maryland Department of the Environment, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the Maryland Critical Area Commission, the Maryland Board of Public Works, and other federal and local agencies. In addition to her years of experience with environmental land use approvals, Ms. Slepicka has lectured extensively on environmental and other land use regulations. 

 Ms. Slepicka is a member of the Charles County Liaison Committee of the Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association (M-NCBIA), as well as a member of the Environmental Committee of the M-NCBIA. Ms. Slepicka is a Co-Director of the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers’ (Now Maryland State Bar Association's) Land Use Institute and has also served as faculty member on the Judicial Institute of Maryland. She is a past President of the Prince George’s County Women’s Bar Association and Steering Committee Officer of the Maryland Land Use Roundtable.
