Teresa Lyons provides quality legal services tailored to each client’s needs and objectives. Ms. Lyons is the managing partner at Lyons Phillips Legal Group PLLC. She has a varied civil litigation practice that includes education law and family law.
Ms. Lyons represents individuals, business entities and government officials at both the trial court and appellate levels in both state and federal courts. She has experience presenting oral arguments before the West Virginia Supreme Court and significant experience serving as a Discovery Commissioner.
Teresa graduated from the West Virginia College of Law in 1999 and was admitted to the West Virginia Bar the same year. She served as part of the first class of West Virginia judicial law clerks in the fall of 1999. Her appointment was to the 15th Judicial Circuit in West Virginia where she served for two years before entering private practice. She joined the firm of Byrne and Hedges (later to become Byrne, Hedges and Lyons) in 2001.
In conjunction with her private practice, she currently serves as a lecturer at the West Virginia University College of Law and has presented frequently at continuing education seminars, primarily on topics related to child welfare and juvenile law.
She serves as a board member for the Monongalia County Youth Services Center and for On Eagles Wings, Inc., a therapeutic horsemanship program. Teresa enjoys staying physically active with swimming, cycling, and other outdoor activities. She is a diehard fan of West Virginia University Women’s Soccer.
